IBM can't seem to figure out what it wants to do with R. While all the other major databases have either built (or announced) PL/R clone implementations, run R routines from SQL statements in the database, IBM is supplying an ODBC-like connector which executes some R functionality in DB2. But this is still garden variety R to database connectivity. To quote Dan Le Batard in the ¿Sí o No? segment, "Are you impressed?". No.
